JOY ANNUNZIATO I am a Breeder Owner-Handler and live in the foothills of the Adirondacks during the summer and West Palm Beach, Florida during the winter. Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers are my breed and I have exhibited them for 10 years and competed prior with my Siberian Huskies. I have shown in NOHS since its inaugural in 2012 and enjoy it. I love being able to showcase a quality dog that I have bred and compete with my peers. Travel, grooming and hours together with your dog creates a great relationship and bond…you are one-on-one during your campaign. We all like to win however that doesn’t always occur, so you congrat- ulate the winner of the day and “take the best dog home”. There will be another show the coming week! Traveling on a regular basis calls for organization and an understanding of what your expectations are if there are sig- nificant others in your life. Some shows you are by yourself much of the time but always an opportunity to meet new people and their breed, sharing ring experiences. We have newcomers to our world and I would tell them first to “find the fun” in what they are doing and to always
have the desire, dedication and determination to succeed. Establish a plan and work on it! Don’t be afraid to regroup and move on as each event is a teaching experience. Watch the pros handle their dogs! Outside of my life with dogs, I enjoy my children and grandchildren, gardening, paddleboarding, hiking and cook- ing. Weekends, at times, are spent on the lake or pool with a full house. My husband and I are blessed to be able to enjoy our gang! JACKIE
BLACKBURN I live in Granbury, Texas. American Eskimos are my breed though I started in 1974 with Samoyeds. ZOE BOLIN I live in Southern California. I breed, own and exhibit two breeds: Black and Tan Coonhounds and Standard Manchester Terriers.
