1. When and where was your first National? Indoor or outdoors? Entry? Judges? Basenji: This is the 39th Anniversary BCOA National Specialty. Bouvier Des Flandres: 1965 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, indoors, Judge: J.J Duncan. Cesky Terrier: The American Cesky Terrier Fanciers Asso- ciation (ACTFA) held the first National Specialty with Montgomery County Kennel Club All Terrier Show in 2016 outdoors at Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. There were 45 Cesky Terriers entered that Year. The judges were Ms. Mary Jane Carberry for the breed and Mr. Michael Weser from Germany for the Sweepstakes. Golden Retriever: It was 1940, the bench show was held May 13 at Thiensville, Wisconsin. The judge was Edward D. Knight. Entry of 38 dogs (45 entries). Best of Breed was from the the puppy bitch class, over three champions, Beavertail Gay Lady, owned by Beavertail Kennels. Greyhound: Outdoors in 1936, Morris & Essex, New Jersey with judge, G.E. Glebb. Pug: Attended my first Pug National in 1988 In Reading, Pennsylvania. All Pug Nationals are indoors, we had 173 entries. Judge was Lorraine Vickers-Smith. Pumi: Our first national specialty was with the American Rare Breed Association Cherry Blossom show (indoors) in Upper Marlboro, Maryland on April 23, 2006. Théo Kjellström was the judge and we had eight dogs entered. Samoyed: It was in 1931. 2. When and where is this year’s National? Indoor or outdoors? Judges? Basenji: The 2018 National Specialty is being held indoors at the Harvey E. Kern Pavilion in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Our Judges are: Lisa Warren (Conformation), Michael Work ( Junior Showmanship), Pat Cembura (Sweep- stakes), Jim Ham (Obedience and Rally) and Tonda Curry (African Stock Exhibition). Bullmastiff: Topeka, Kansas, indoors. Futurity—Julie Ahrens, Sweepstakes—Chris Rasmussen, Classes and BOB— Virginia Rowland. Cesky Terrier: The third ACTFA National Specialty is being held outdoors with Montgomery County Kennel Club All Terrier Show in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. The breed Judge is Mr. Wood Wornall. Sweepstakes Judge is Mr. Sidney Marx. Golden Retriever: Purina Farms, St. Louis, Missouri, Sep- tember 30th to October 11th, Indoor, Judges: Mrs. Ellen Harden—Best of Breed, Best Puppy and Best Veteran; Mr. Douglas A. Johnson—Bitches (Regular and non-regular classes) and Junior Showmanship; Mr. Eugene Blake— Dogs (Regular and non-regular classes). Greyhound: October 20th, Harvest Moon Cluster, Pleasan- ton, California. Outdoors with judge Bitte Åhrens Primav- era (Sobers Kennel, Italy). Pug: The 2018 National Specialty is in Indianapolis, Indi- ana at the Wyndham Indianapolis West, 2544 Executive Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241 Thee dates are Octo- ber 1-6, 2018. Central Indiana Pug Club (CIPC) will hold a specialty and sweepstakes on October 1-2 in conjunc- tion with the National Specialty Agility will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Pawsitive Partners Dog Training Center, 5750 Elmwood Court, Indianapolis, Indiana 46203. All competition is indoor. Judges: Jason Hoke—Beginner puppy, Junior showmanship, all con- formation; Kathleen Getter—Puppy and veteran sweep- stakes; Patricia Strong—National obedience and National Rally; Richard Strong—Regional obedience and Regional Rally; Mary Mullen—agility; Tim Catterson—CIPC all information and junior showmanship; Bonita Fichten- baum is judging sweepstakes for CIPC. Pumi: This year’s national is at the Bella Vista Training Cen- ter in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania on October 4-7th. It is indoors (except for Herding). We also offer two
