ALASKAN KLEE KAI CLUB OF AMERICA

Like many dog breeds, Alaskan Klee Kai are curious, clever, fast, and sneaky, and may have a high prey drive. So, it is important to keep the dog on a leash or in a securely fenced area at all times when outside of the home. AKK ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT SPEND TIME WITH THEIR DOGS.

Scent Work is a much-loved AKK Performance event which is held indoors and outdoors. Similar to dog detection work, the dogs are trained to find particular scents and alert their handlers when the scent is found. It is a fun game that also builds a good working relationship. There are many other opportunities which AKK enjoy in the title recognition and certifications for Trick Dog, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, Farm Dog, Fly Ball, Disc Dog, Search and Rescue, Therapy Dog, and more! Alaskan Klee Kai are intelligent and personable, making them well suited for therapy work and visits to various facilities and loca- tions such as nursing homes, classrooms, libraries, assisted living centers, hospices, and schools. You don’t see our little darlings pulling sleds very often, but you can see them enjoying so much more! They love to be with their humans, whether camping, hiking, playing in the pool, on the beach, and on boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. For those who live in a more urban setting, or have a more sedate lifestyle, daily walks or a game of fetch can also provide great exercise. Alaskan Klee Kai are foremost loving companion dogs that form strong bonds with their family and are as happy playfully interacting with their owners and exploring the out- doors as they are relaxing lovingly on the laps of their youthful or elderly owners. Like many dog breeds, Alaskan Klee Kai are curious, clever, fast, and sneaky, and may have a high prey drive, so it is important to keep the dog on a leash or in a securely fenced area at all times when outside the home. AKK are not suitable for people who can- not spend time with their dogs.
