them all, but it was a truly enjoyable weekend and I’m very glad I went. Having just come back from Westminster at Madison Square Garden, on to another garden—Garden City Kansas—and then on to Louisville, (with a few in be- tween), I went from shows with entries nearly four-thou- sand to shows in the high three-hundreds. It made me appreciate even more the amount of work involved for all shows of any size, and the difficulties these Clubs face. I plan to feature a series of interviews with Show Chairs in which we can all learn ways to guarantee the success and longevity of not only our own show but the sport itself. Thank you to eveyone at GCKKC for a very nice break in a busy winter. (I might add that although I was pre- pared for anything, it being March First in the Midwest, the weather was absolutely beautiful.) Here’s wishing this proud Club and its membership—and their dogs—my very, very Best. n

breeder/exhibitor and respected artist, did a tremendous job of providing hospitality and the effort expended by her and her team would do justice to a larger group. And the club is small—twenty members and only a fraction ac- tively working. The city for which it’s named is but twenty- seven thousand people with the closest major city being Wichita, over two-hundred miles away. Yet each year their three-day cluster is a success. Numbers aren’t huge al- though I was pleased to see thirty-one Boxers and twenty- eight Rhodesian Ridgebacks, which topped the entries, but most judges agreed that the entry reflected quality if not quantity. Show Chair Odebt Massey is justly proud of her club and her team which includes her husband Bill, a noted musician and excellent steward. Notably absent was long-time doyenne of the Club, Ramona Haney, although her daughter, Rochelle Haney Smith was there to carry on the family tradition. There were so many other delightful people with the Club and in attendance I cannot mention
