Those who exhibit primarily in the States may not be totally familiar with the vibrant and so- phisticated world of dog shows south of our border. U.S. judges who travel there come back raving at the hospitality they receive and the professional way in which the shows are run. We see their judges on panels at our shows quite often and are always impressed with their knowl- edge, demeanor and professional style. We see their handlers and comment about their great talent; in fact, we have many natives of these countries now living here and doing extremely well. For Europeans it’s simple to hop across borders and go to foreign shows but for us it’s a bit more of an ordeal. That’s a shame because there’s so much to be learned and so much to love about the dog show scene in Latin America. And there’s certainly opportunity to do so, were one fortunate enough to go. The shows sched- uled for this year alone show how much interest exists for the sport in the countries involved.
