I live with my wife (Wendy Schira) in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada which is about one hour from Toronto, Ontario. I purchased my first pure-bred Golden Retriever in 1971 and began showing the same year. I have been breeding both Gold- en Retrievers and Flat-Coated Retrievers for over 40 years and have bred 100+ Canadian Champions and 75+ American Champions. I have also bred Belgian Shepherd dogs for 35+

As my folks were both involved in the sport, my mother, a breeder of ES and later a well-respected judge, and my father, a dog lover, supporter and AKC delegate, I really always was “doggie”. I myself have been involved in the sport since the
