miniature horses and tending to their many farm animals on their ranch. BETSY HARVEY I grew up on the
by the “show bug”. She went on to become the top Mastiff bitch in 1980 and 1981! We bred under the prefix “LamBay” and produced many beautiful champions. In the mid 1980s we added numerous breeds to our household: Bernese Mountain Dogs, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Longhaired Dachshunds, Doberman Pinchers, German Shorthaired Pointers, Pointers, Vizslas, Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Whippets. It was my husband Bob’s love for the versatile Sighthounds that began to turn my main interest to our Whippets. We focused on the selective breeding of our Whippets and became breeders of All-Breed Best in Show and Specialty winners, as well as the American Whippet Top 20 Winner in 1995! I left the corporate world in 1992 to commit to handling full time. My handling career would span nearly 30 years! Throughout those years I was privileged to campaign a num- ber of beautiful, nationally-ranked dogs. I am equally blessed to have had the love and support of my husband and daugh- ters through those years. My husband, Bob and I have two grown daughters, Amber and Audra, son-in-law Matt and two precious grandchildren. We happily live close to our family in Phoenix, AZ and share our house with a Whippet and a Ridgeback. I am happily pursuing the next phase of my life as an AKC judge. I am looking forward to giving back to a sport that I hold dear. I am currently licensed (regular status) to judge, Mastiffs, Basenjis, Beagles, Dachshunds, Harriers, Ibizans, Irish Wolfhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Whippets, Golden Retrievers, Vizslas, Weimaraners and Junior Showmanship. Presently, I am focusing on completing the Hound, Sporting and Working groups. HOLLY SCOTT
East Coast… New York state, Maryland and Massachusetts. After the winter of 1978 my husband and I decided that we were done with snow and ice and moved to Southern California. We raised 2 daughters and now have a beau- tiful granddaughter who is 5 months old.
There have always been dogs in our lives; at one time we had 8 Mastiffs who all lived in the house. Floor space was limited at times!!! We are now retired and enjoying our slowed down pace. Since I am not currently showing, I do some ring stew- arding here and there so that I can see the dogs and good friends that I’ve made over the years. I truly enjoy my time judging and I’m currently working on applying for a few additional breeds. PAM LAMBIE
My love affair with dogs began early on… in fact, I can- not remember a time without a dog in my life! Growing up, my family had Poodles and Pekinese. In my early teens my parents purchased our first Mastiffs and made an agreement with the breeders to show them to their championships. We had no idea what that meant, or how it would shape my life! When my husband, Bob and I married in 1978, we took a puppy from my parents’ first litter for our own. She became, CH Black Velvet’s Kaluha ‘n Cream. With her we were bitten
I have been involved in Mastiffs for over thirty years now, starting in obedience with my rescue dog, Gulph Mills Mr.
